I used to be here...
our old house in North Carolina was situated on the river and I spent a lot of time on the dock. I'm in the blue shirt. I feel terrible for not remembering the names of those two girls - I think I hung out with them a lot.
I used to be here, too...
Our house when we lived in Hawaii. That house was around during WWII and still had bullet holes on the exterior walls from the attack on Pearl Harbor. The house had been renovated several times since 1941, but I bet they left those holes there on purpose. You could see the Arizona Memorial from my bedroom window. The house Admiral Kimmel lived in was directly across from ours. A lot of history in that neighborhood.
And unfortunately, I'm not here anymore...
My grandparent's house in Philadelphia. No place ever felt more like home than this house. For all the moving I did as a Navy kid, THIS was my homebase. This was my summer paradise. Wheel of Fortune viewings, late night ice cream sundaes with my gram and visits from all the eccentric neighbors...I loved every second of being there.
I should be on my way to Philadelphia right now, but the weather is a little too treacherous. So I'm housebound and playing with my new flash.
Wait! Arcade Fire was on SNL last night! I thought the guitar smashing at the end was a little out of the ordinary - but Tom explained to me that it was a cheap guitar and worthy of being smashed. Fair enough! I'm so excited for more and more Arcade Fire!
Remember when Mariah had that stupid alter ego, Bianca, in her "Heartbreaker" video? This video reminds me of that...unfortunately.
What was the worst job you ever had?

I was a hostess in a restaurant for about six months in college. It was horrible! It wasn't so much the pretentious customers...it was the endless drama with the rest of the staff. My God, the chaos and conflict NEVER ENDED with those people. The place was totally incestuous - everyone dated each other! And of course, people would break up, date someone else who worked there and a minor war would start. Not knowing any better, I accepted an offer to hang out with one of the waiters. He called saying that he had an extra ticket to a play downtown and wanted to know if I felt like going. I accepted. That was Sunday night. I show up for my shift on Monday night - I came to find out that he had told everyone that we were "going out" now. Walking right into the drama, I set him and everyone else straight. Apparently his ego was really bruised because he transfered to the sister restaurant about a week or so later.
Sick of the cattiness with my fellow hostesses and the overall idiotic drama, I quit shortly before Easter that year. I can't believe I lasted as long as I did.

So that whole "Keep Me, Protect Me, Share Me" quote really struck a chord with me.
And if that shot of the old man looking at the photograph oh his wife doesn't move you, then you need to get your heart examined.
OMG PLEASE. I'm not a Barbie collector or anything, but for some reason it has become very important that I own this doll.
I'm sick in the head.
