Show us your oldest family photo.

While I'm sure these are the three oldest in my photos, I'm not positive which one is the oldest. If I had to guess, I'd say that the last one is the most ancient. They were beginning to disintegrate, so I'm just happy to have them scanned and safe. Hooray for technology!

AUSTIN STORIES!

Major points for anyone who remembers this show. It was part of MTV's original 10 Spot line up. There was only a handful of episodes and then it just disappeared - probably to make room for more episodes of The Maxx and Singled Out. :( So after not seeing the show for almost 10 years, I happen upon the entire series for sale on eBay! And who was selling it? One of the stars of the show - Howard! That DVD was one of the happiest purchases of my life.

Kodak Gallery Commercial - Live Forever - Short Version

Without a doubt, this is my favorite commercial ever. I saw this for the first time not long after my brother had finished scanning every single family photograph we had. The oldest photographs (ones dating back to the earlier part of the 1900's) were starting to disentigrate, so it became an absolute necessity to scan and preserve them. The project took a few years, but all the photographs are backed up on multiple drives and on several DVD's (which have been copied and distributed to extended family members numerous times). Knowing that really precious, one-of-a-kind photographs (like your great grandparent's wedding portrait) are safe and secure - that's a good feeling.

So that whole "Keep Me, Protect Me, Share Me" quote really struck a chord with me.

And if that shot of the old man looking at the photograph oh his wife doesn't move you, then you need to get your heart examined.
